Here is how a chestnut travels from our Italian groves to a Canadian retail shelf.
Step 1
CULTIVATION
Cooperativa Agricola Melchiorre | Italy
Over 100 hectares of certified chestnut groves, managed directly by the Cooperative. Cultivation practices comply with GlobalG.A.P. and GRASP standards, ensuring sustainable agriculture and full field-level traceability.
Step 2
HARVESTING
October – January | Italy
Chestnuts are harvested at peak ripeness using controlled methods that preserve product integrity. Each harvest lot is identified and documented from the moment it leaves the grove.
Step 3
PROCESSING & QUALITY CONTROL

After harvest, chestnuts undergo rigorous sorting, sizing, cleaning and quality inspection in our BRC and HACCP certified facility. Only product that meets our strict specifications proceeds to packaging.
Step 4
PACKAGING
Italy
Products are packaged in retail-ready or bulk formats according to destination market requirements. Private label and custom packaging options are available. All packaging complies with Canadian and U.S. labeling regulations.
Step 5
EXPORT
Italy → Canada
ML Evolution Inc. manages the full export process from Italy, including FDA documentation, Canadian import compliance, cold chain logistics and customs clearance. Every shipment is fully traceable.
Step 6
DISTRIBUTION IN CANADA

Upon arrival in Canada, products are distributed to retail partners across the country. ML Evolution Inc. manages logistics, inventory and account relationships directly, ensuring continuity and reliability for our retail partners.
